SouthState Bank

My family and I absolutely love this branch! Staff is always super helpful and sweet. Ronica did an amazing job helping me set up another account. We will always visit this South State Bank for all of our banking needs!

This 5 star review is for Jennifer Payne who works as a "Financial Sales Representative" at the Furys Ferry Road location. I had an issue with fraud on my business account. I started on the phone with South State and had a terrible experience. I walked in to her branch very upset and just wanting someone to care and give me some kind of assurance that the bank could actually do something that day to help me. Jennifer calmly heard me out and helped me to realize it wasn't the end of the world. ;) She gave me a resolution that I was happy with while I was waiting on those ever-loving bank "standard procedures" to work themselves out over the next week. The people make the bank, not the name. Thanks guys! Shout out to Ricky Mays as well. He always takes phenomenal care of me!

Terrible bank. Deposited my check inside the bank and then they took it out later that week making my account negative and charging fees. They will place you on hold with 4 to 5 other people just to Repeat the conversation over ten times. My statements on the bank are negative when I didn’t spend any money because of their mistake.

When my bank went downhill after being bought out, I transfered my money to GB&T just a few months later, they were bought out by South State. After the buyout, the service level decreased. When Covid closed the lobby, service at the drive thru was horrible. As soom as another local bank opens I will say bye to South State.

Almost every time I use this location for banking, I am not treated very nicely. For example, was just there today, right at closing so maybe this is why I was treated the way I was treated, no greating, no thank you no nothing. But I did notice everyone else in the different lines were being warmly greeted and thanked. It made me feel very unappreciated.
