I an active duty service member who used this company for several years to manage my property. During this time --- I always received my payments late and the company never wanted to raise my tenants rent to keep up with the market or inflation. Finally, I decided to part ways and told the tenants I did not want to renew. Once I inspected the house --- I had carpeting that was SOAKED in pet urine, urine baseboards, a fence that was black from a BBQ fire at some point, blinds that were destroyed, dishwasher that was destroyed, shower door broken, half bath cabinet broken, both garage doors broken, etc etc. It was as if they never did real inspections in the 6 years that I used them. Overall, I calculated I paid nearly 9k in "finders fees" and monthly payments for them to essentially do nothing. I spend over 25k in repairs and labor. Even worse, both tenants (had two during these six years) found my listing through my listing I created. This company charged me a finders fee for people I found. I would no recommend. You're better off doing it yourself and taking a trip once a year to do your own inspections.

I have been living at Blue Ridge Commons Apartments for 5 years. I absolutely love this little community managed by Sherman & Hemstreet the staff is always courteous and I have only ever needed maintenance twice and both times Courtney has responded to me immediately and got the issue fixed! The location is perfect and like I said it’s like a little community here! If your looking to rent definitely check out Sherman & Hemstreet and Blue Ridge Commons!

I was moving halfway across the country while being transferred in the military. The folks at S&H made a very stressful experience very easy and were great at communicating with me. They always respond in a timely manner and were always a pleasure to work with. They were always fair and easy to work with. They ensured the property owners home was looked after, and always ensured I felt like more than just some renter.

Being a property owner using S&H as my mgmt.co, I did not expect to see reviews from renters and former employees. From a property management standpoint, I can only say that all of the employees that are assigned to specific areas of the management, have consistently performed at a high level. Great communications, and follow-up on questions concerns and home and tenant issues. I have been using them for just over 4 years now. Between Amanda, Ally and Courtney, I have no complaints for my 1 measly property. Overall the fee's aren't cheap, when it comes to larger repairs, but to have peace of mind for them to cover everything, from a homeowner's rental property stand-point, S&H in the end is a business and not a charity.
