Performance Equine Vets

I love my boy, Docs Av Velocity, & was horrified to hear the word "laminitis" last September! But quick, kind, and professional care by Dr. Breanne Maraman at Performance Equine calmed most of my fears and gave me hope. She not only left me with a treatment plan, she also referred an excellent farrier who does a lot of laminitis cases and is proficient at reading X-rays. I still use him today for all my horses. The very friendly and knowledgeable staff kept in touch and answered all my questions in the following days & weeks. I'm so happy to report that Doc is back to his old self again, and I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you, Performance Equine!

I, unfortunately, had to go through the terrifying experience of my horse colicing and requiring surgery. If it wasn’t for Dr. Caston, Dr. Jacob’s, Dr. Casey, Dr. Rachelle, Jess, Christian and the entire team at Performance Equine Vets, I don’t think my horse would have made it. Everyone, from the moment I arrived at 10pm at night with a horse that was in severe pain, were fantastic and they worked like a well tuned machine between the vets, and the technicians to take care of him. They let me know right away how he was recovering from surgery and what happened in the surgery at 2am which took a huge weight off my shoulders. And the following after care was top notch especially having a care specialist with me during every visit to talk about how my horse was doing and his care program after surgery. We are lucky to have equine surgeon Dr. Caston at Performance Equine here in Aiken, and highly recommend.

I am a trainer based out of Nebraska who spends the winters in Aiken, SC. I have been so incredibly impressed with Performance Equine. They are super easy to schedule through and correspond with. I have had them out for a handful of pre purchase exams where I found them to be very detailed and thorough with highest of quality digital x-ray available. They offer shockwave as well which is incredibly helpful in keeping my upper level eventers feeling their very best, all without requiring injections. Highly recommend!

We have been so incredibly impressed with our first experience with PEV. We were referred to them by our local vet due to a case of colic in one of our minis. Within minutes of being referred late at night, the team at PEV contacted us and prepared for our arrival. They welcomed our horse in the middle of the night with loving, professional, expert-level care and were in touch with us every step of the way during his recovery over a period of days. Thanks to their care, we get to go pick our sweet Teddy up tomorrow morning to bring him home. I have used Performance Equine since moving here in 2017. I have 5 horses and have used them annually for everything from routine vaccines & dental care, to a tooth extraction with sinusitis requiring a frontal trephination and 5-day clinic stay. On another occasion, Dr. Sabrina came out on a Saturday morning for a colic call and continued to check in frequently with me throughout the day via text for updates. The group text functionality with the vet staff is awesome as all the vets were kept apprised of my mare’s status so that even during coverage change, the on-call vet was already up to speed on Jo’s progress. I can’t say enough good things about the entire staff at Performance. The front-end staff, the techs, the hospital staff and the veterinarians are all top notch. Highly recommend.
