We stopped by PenFed after my husband's newcomers brief, where we first heard Brandon speak about PenFed's services and competitive interest rates. His professionalism and energy stood out right away, so we decided to go in and open an account--and we're so glad we did! Meeting Brandon in person was a breath of fresh air. He immediately built rapport with us, made us feel genuinely welcome, and took the time to walk us through everything in a way that was easy to understand. His attitude and approach were sincere and personable, and he made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Having worked in management and customer service myself for over 15 years, I can confidently say that Brandon is a gem. His passion, customer-first attitude, and ability to make people feel valued are rare. PenFed is lucky to have him! Thank you for the help Brandon, and for acknowledging our Tribal Chief. Please do not get a mortgage with this group. Don't be fooled by the name. They are not friendly to military anymore and have become the shadiest busines I have ever dealt with. You have been warned. Have had different3 mortgages with PenFed going back to 2015. Have never missed a payment or even been late on one. They cut off my ability to pay my mortgage and said the only way my access TO MY EXISTING MORTGAGE THAT IS 4 YEARS OLD WITH NO LATE PAYMENTS would be to let them run my credit with a "soft pull." I keep my accounts frozen so no one can run it without me knowing so they had to do that to get me to unlock it. My score is an 821. This is illegal and a lot like what Wells Fargo did and got penalized for it. Guessing they are trying to figure out which loans to keep and which to sell.

The teller at Fort Gordon PX was extremely friendly. She did the quick application sheet for me so all I had to do was sign it. The employee that called me that afternoon to finalize my setup was also very friendly and professional. Both employees put me at ease and made me feel highly valued as a customer. This is a service that is becoming more and more scarce. I appreciate these ladies as they were instrumental in my decision to open a checking account.

We have excellent credit 850 and they denied us a loan. With no real reason!!! We never miss a payment. Our house is paid off, property we own paid off, and we only owe 2 loans; one loan with only one small payment left to pay to USAA, and we wanted to use the new loan to pay off the second loan we still owe. I told my husband to check with the credit union first, I thought they might have lower interest rates on personal loans, then USAA. Oh boy, was I wrong. Incompetence at its best! We went back to USAA and got approved right away for the loan amount we ask. Should stay with the people we know when it comes to personal loans, and been serving us all these years. The credit Union lost a valuable customer for a big loan. They should really do a quality check.
