My experience with April began with a mix of apprehension and curiosity, but it unfortunately transitioned into serious concerns about unethical psychotherapy practices. Initially, I was impressed by her competence and skills. However, I soon encountered significant issues that affected my trust and confidence in her services. One major concern was April's dual role as both a couples counselor and an individual therapist for each partner in the couple. This arrangement struck me as a clear conflict of interest. It became even more troubling when intimate details shared in private individual sessions were brought up in other sessions, including our couples counseling. This breach of confidentiality undermined the therapeutic process and created an uncomfortable and unsafe environment. Feeling uneasy, I sought the opinion of an outside therapist. When I described the situation, they were appalled by the ethical violations. This reaction confirmed my fears that the practices I experienced were not standard or acceptable in professional therapy. While I recognize April's competence and skills as a therapist, this situation reflects a serious lapse in judgment and professional ethics. It is important for potential clients to be aware of these issues. My intention is not to discredit April's abilities but to share my experience and highlight the importance of ethical boundaries in therapy.

April has been an absolutely incredible and professional therapist. I first began seeing her with my ex husband for marriage counseling about 7ish years ago. She saw I had a lot of PTSD and we began individual therapy for myself as well. She never would bring up anything from either my ex husbands or my own individual therapy into the other’s sessions or into the couple’s sessions. She is extremely particular on making sure she does not break anyone’s trust. Even though my marriage fell apart, she was not any part of the reason my marriage failed. Both individuals have to be willing to put in the work outside of therapy, it can’t start and end in her office. I have continued my sessions with her individually and she has been absolutely phenomenal and has helped get rid of almost all my PTSD and depression. I’ve had other therapists that have tried helping but none of them come close to Aprils level.
