Lower Savannah Council

No help for me because I have reverse mortgage which means my home doesn't go direct to family. I thought the goal was to help disabled, elderly stay in their home, not who gets it when I die. I was wrong. I

Not sure what these other reviews are but they must be from people that work there and didn't need help because this place does NOT help!! Originally filled out an application at Midlands Council for respite care since my 87yr old mom kept having medical problems. I lived 30 miles from her, was running 2 households and trying to work, which was an hour away. My mom lived in Lexington county and I live in aiken. The Midland Council said since I didn't live in Lexington county they couldn't help me so I should contact lower Savannah Council, which I then filled out another application for respite care. Then they also told me they couldn't help me because my mom didn't live in aiken county!! So where are we supposed to live to get help??? NO ONE HELPED!!! They tell caregivers to ask for help but then these agencies find excuses to NOT help!!

This is a little known resource Center as well as offices for folks who serve citizens and officials in several counties. I find it a very pleasant place ready to help and provide assistance no matter what the need.

They are always smiling and ready and able to help.
