This was one of the worst shopping experiences I’ve had in a long time. The store was completely understaffed, and it showed in every part of the visit. Despite being a massive 65,000-square-foot facility, there were only two cashiers available—and not a single courtesy clerk or bagger in sight. I had over $400 worth of groceries and was forced to use self-checkout because there was no other option. The system only lets you scan around 20 items at a time before requiring an attendant to come over and swipe a card. That would be fine if the attendant was helpful, but she wasn’t. She didn’t assist with bagging and didn’t seem to care about the long lines of frustrated customers. I went to the front desk and asked if there were any courtesy clerks. The answer? None. There were tons of people waiting to check out, but not a single employee dedicated to bagging groceries. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told his name was Andrew. He was paged, but never showed up. When I asked why there weren’t more employees, the customer service rep just pointed to a sign saying they were hiring. That doesn’t do me any good today—and this is the second time I’ve had this exact experience at this location. Kroger needs to get serious about staffing. If you can’t run a store this size properly, you’re failing your customers

I completely understand a legit trained with proper markings for service animal in the store. What I do not understand is why people are allowed to bring pets/non-service animals into a grocery store and management says nothing as was the case on June 28th. Please do better.

The lady that manages the cheese counter is awesome...very knowledgeable about various unique cheeses from around the world. I'm a connoisseur and she has explained and recommended excellent selections. And to be able to sample a unique cheese for under $5 is an excellent business decision for Kroger.

This store was amazing when it first opened, but over the years it’s steadily become like all the other stores - little to no customer service staff, continually understocked, and you’re forced to check out your own groceries, even if it’s a thousand dollar order that requires assistance. Need assistance? Better bring your own. Thankfully they’ve converted a couple of their old cashier lanes to self checkout for those with a larger number of items, but there’s a rhythm to the process and you’ll need the one CSR over all of those self checkouts to come swipe their card, verify that you did ring up those last five items, and only then can you continue. It adds a significant amount of time to the checkout process and heaven help you if more than one person needs assistance - that’s an additional wait. My advice if you’re pressed for time is to go down the street to the Food Lion where actual cashiers can ring you up quickly and you’re on your way. Speaking of the other store, I’d advise going to them for produce. The produce at this particular Kroger often goes moldy within a day or so, especially the berries. I’ve never had issues with produce at the other store so I buy that from them, then shop at this store for everything else. This Kroger’s meat counter, shelves, and freezer bins are usually stocked with quality meats. Buying dairy items, especially yogurts? Check those expiration dates. They don’t always rotate stock when adding items and I’ve often found items in the coolers to be well beyond their sell by dates. I take the items I do find up to the customer service counter, but don’t know what’s done about them after they’re turned in. I’d also recommend checking the dates on other items throughout the store as stock rotation doesn’t seem to be of importance to most of the personnel stocking those shelves. Their flower department and soft line/hard line goods departments are especially nice and very handy - no need to go elsewhere for many of those items. Th...

I attended the grand opening of this wonderful store. Large selection of food items, alcohol and clothing! A one stop shop for what used to be a sleepy little town. (Grovetown). This site use to be out in the sticks with nothing but a Waffle House nearby! How times have changed!
