A Taste of Home: My Curbside Experience at Honey from the Rock CafΓ© Looking for some genuine Southern comfort food during a weekday lunch rush in Augusta, I decided to try Honey from the Rock CafΓ©, knowing they offer convenient curbside pickup. I'd heard great things about their reputation for soulful cooking, and I was definitely in the mood for something hearty and satisfying to enjoy at home. Ordering & Pickup Experience Placing my online order was straightforward. When I arrived at the designated pickup time, the process was smooth and efficient. Staff brought the order out promptly to the car, ensuring everything was packed securely. Even through the brief curbside interaction, the staff were friendly and conveyed that same sense of warmth you hope for from a beloved local spot. While I didn't experience the indoor atmosphere, the efficiency and friendliness of the pickup process were notable. The delicious aromas wafting from the bag were already promising! The Menu & My Order Even for takeout, the menu offered a tempting array of Southern and soul food classics visible online or relayed over the phone. Fried chicken, baked chicken, smothered pork chops, oxtails (a special that day!), fried fish – the gang was all there. And the sides! Collard greens, mac & cheese, candied yams, black-eyed peas, cabbage, potato salad, green beans, rice & gravy, cornbread... making a decision was still tough. I decided to go with the Baked Chicken Plate. It felt like a solid choice to gauge their home-style cooking. For my sides, I couldn't resist the Mac & Cheese and the Candied Yams. Of course, a piece of Cornbread and a Sweet Tea were mandatory accompaniments. The Food Experience (Enjoyed at Home) Unpacking the food at home, everything was still wonderfully hot and smelled incredible. Baked Chicken: This was fantastic. Two generous pieces (a leg and thigh) were perfectly cooked. The skin was nicely seasoned, and the meat underneath was fall-off-the-bone tender an...

The service was decent. We had lunch here and it was basically a buffet style service with a series of different southern staples, such as mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, meatloaf, chicken tenders and other items. The quality of the food was decent (somewhat home made) but the cost was a bit high for what you got. Desserts are also priced differently. The chocolate cake was pretty great. Overall I had a good meal but I probably wouldn't come back since the prices are higher than I like to pay for this quality of food.

Honey From the Rock is literally one of Augusta's best kept secrets. The food is always well seasoned, taste amazing and fills you to the core. The sad part about this little secret is that it is only open Mon-Fri from 11am to 2pm, but if you can catch them open you will not regret your experience.

Good place to eat in Augusta. Always grab two desserts…one for now and one for later!
