I have attended a couple shows at Candl and both times had a fantastic time. The gallery gives the pieces room to breathe—impressive in a space this compact. The openings were packed and full of artists and an astonishing variety of patrons. I ended up purchasing a piece by Jay Jacobs and Drake made the experience a real pleasure. This gallery showcases primarily local artists. It is a gem in the heart of Augusta.

Candl is oasis in a desert. It provides the opportunity for an artist to explore and report about their world in a white walled well lit space. Augusta Georgia has very few spaces focused exclusively on providing an artist with the ability to show a fully formed body of work. Out of those few, even less keep predictable hours and operate in a way that affords such beneficial interaction between artist and audience. I have had a solo show at Candl and have also enjoyed listening to other artists explain their work and in both instances I experienced first hand Drake's willingness and enthusiasm to make these symbiotic moments happen. I look forward to each new show at Candl and highly recommend walking in and talking with Drake wether you are artist or art lover. Jay Jacobs

Candl Fine Art is a welcome addition to the Augusta arts scene. Since its inception a couple of years ago, the gallery has highlighted a number of artists from the area and has become a beacon for those who love and support the visual arts.

I stopped in for the exhibit by Jay Jacobs. For the exhibit itself, I would give full five stars. Sadly, I had the unfortunate to encounter a very rude man, whose business card identifies him as Drake White. I have never in an art gallery had such a bizarre and ugly encounter. Mr White made a bizarre ugly remark as I was describing Jay's gorgeous piece that hangs in the Unitarian Universalist church of Augusta. He then began acting irrationally and yelling. I would not recommend this gallery. I will not return.
