Budget Car Rental

Made a reservation in January 2025 for a 10 day rental. Called ahead of time and confirmed my reservation. Showed up at time of pickup selected and was told they have no vans or anything comparable for 4/4/2025. The counter reps were rude and could care less that they could not fulfill my reservation, The gentleman got on the phone and asked someone if they had any van rentals to fulfill my reservation then I was told they don't have an ETA for an arrival and he could take my number, but it could be a couple of days. I informed him this was an unacceptable option. As a result, the counter rep stated, "I'll just cancel your reservation then." I called the Budget customer service line and was offered a $30 future voucher which does not compare to the disruption of our 10 day trip in which we booked for. Their excuse was because Master's is happening next week. This was exactly the reason I made a reservation in January to prevent this from happening. When I spoke to him further regarding my interaction with the counter rep, I was offered a voucher to go to any competitor and they would cover the cost up to the amount of my original reservation. I appreciated the customer service rep trying to make it right but no competitor in the area has rentals available at this point due to the high volume of travel for Master's. Beware of renting from this place if you want confidence that your reservation will be honored.

Avoid this place if you can. Was given a broken down car, couldn't exchange the car for 2 days even at the airport, then on the 4th day after calling over and over again I finally got it. I was told to take video of the car or I'd be held responsible for anything on it, and noticed they have multiple signs saying they will charge for smoking, and cleaning fees. When I return the car, the guy just said thank you and asked if I need a paper receipt, and I declined. 2 days after I returned, a 250.00 cleaning fee was added, as miscellaneous, and they apologized and agreed to return it. A month later, and the 3rd time asking why they haven't, they said they decided it was jusfied. I'll take the thousands per year I spend and take it elsewhere, as I've never had this once happen in the three years since I've been using them. BUYER BEWARE.

Don’t make a reservation here! They don’t take Chime Cards and a few others. I had to downgrade my vehicle all because I didn’t have a MAJOR credit card. Had to go through a soft credit check just to be able to get a car. So inconvenient! I’ll never get a rental car from this company again!

Didn't have our vehicle despite a reservation. Switched us to a vehicle without as much luggage space. Because of time restraints we took the smaller Durango. We got an email prior to coming here saying our vehicle was ready. So what happened to it? Now we wait again as the smaller vehicle needs gas and cleaning.

Horrible. I had a free rental day from a previous issue when I first PCSd here. Asked how much deposit would be and not even customer service or the location could give an accurate answer. Stated they are very cautious with people who do only 1 day rental and we’d still be charged the full amount of the rental and the company will decide if they want to apply the coupon after we return the vehicle. Horrible horrible horrible company and their cars are not properly maintained. Decided to cancel my “free” 1 day rental. I will never ever go here even if was the last rental company in the books … everyone is so clueless even the store manager 🤮
