I moved into Brighton Place (701) in July 2023. The first problem I had was obtaining the mailbox key. I was denied the key until I went to the United States Postal Service and paid for it in September - note the date of the receipt. My medication was in the mailbox in the heat. Unlike me, they did not have to request a copy of the key. I immediately provided a copy. I asked for the blinds to be changed in March, which did not occur until the maintenance person noted that I had moved boxes when he came to inspect the smoke detectors. I had decided in April to prepare to move to a new location. I had decided not to ask for any more repairs, and it was best for my peace of mind to move on. They wanted my money but they did not want to fix anything. The other issue was that the property manager and the maintenance person denied receiving my work order requests. So, I had to take screenshots of my work orders and my email inbox as proof. Due to the lack of customer service, the failure to complete repairs, and the failure to provide a mailbox key in a timely manner, I do not recommend this apartment complex. It was a horrible experience. I paid my rent on time every month, except for the first month when I had trouble connecting the account. And even though it was an honest mistake, they charged me a late fee. Other people living there may need to have operating stoves. Buyer beware. The property manager and the maintenance person both had 365 days to do what was right by me but purposely and maliciously chose to do otherwise. Proverbs 3:Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”— when you already have it with you. 29 Do not plot harm against your neighbor, who lives trustfully near you.

Brighton place has the potential to be a great community in a great location but management fails miserably to communicate effectively and respond to work orders/ repairs in a timely manner. In South Carolina landlords have a legal responsibility to respond to repairs within 14 days. I have had repairs outstanding for over a month now. My next step is going to magistrate’s court to file a complaint against the management company! I have had mold/mildew accumulating on my bathroom ceiling for months now and I run my exhaust fan constantly so I do not know why it keeps happening. It is a known fact that mold is dangerous and can affect your health dangerously. I have cracks in the walls that are forming and spreading and I am unaware if it’s a foundation issue because no one has even cared enough to come out and look at the issue! I’ve tried to be patient because they have changed management companies twice in one year but I’m getting irritated. I have asked several time to transfer to a different unit because I am not satisfied with the one I’m in. I made it clear that I am willing to pay for upgrades because I like the area because it is in a convenient locations. But these issues are not worth being unsatisfied and unsafe in a home I’m paying over 1k a month for. On top of that the units have roaches! I DO NOT recommend Brighton Place.

I have had an ongoing issue with my upstairs neighbors which I have let the office staff know about for over a year now. It has gotten to the point I have been harassed at my own home by them. I have brought 4 police reports stating these incidents. I have asked to be let out of my lease due to these issue and been told that I need to pay a lease break fee and give a 60-day notice. I have tried calling the regional manager for days now with no response even though his voicemail states he will call back within “24 hours”. I have also tried to reach out to corporate office as well and have no returned phone calls. Considering this is a safety issue you think they would be more concerned. The only answer I have gotten from the office is that they would want the upstairs neighbors to leave…they know where I live is the problem. So maybe corporate will see this review and reach back out at their earliest convenience. UPDATE: apparently 4 police reports of them being called out for domestic violence & one of me talking to police because I had the lady come to my home asking who the children were in my home isn’t enough because I’m not in “harms way” ..clearly you need a death certificate to give the office to get out of your lease agreement. DO NOT LIVE HERE. Clearly you can tell that 4 police reports were not enough to the comment that was left below. I have more than reached out to the office, the regional, & the VP about this issue. Why would I move to another unit when the whole apartment complex is the size of a gas station parking lot. They know who I am and the vehicle I drive. I have sent videos of this lady asking who the father of children in my apartment are while also stating her husband could kill her. AS STATED PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT RENT HERE. Obviously they are more worried about a dollar then their residents safety.

-PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!- Where do i even begin. This has been the worst place i have ever lived in my life, Constant theft, Break in to cars, maintenance workers never working, work orders never done, over priced, landlord incapable of human decency. Here’s a story. Me and my girlfriend went without ac for over 2 months we constantly tried to stay in contact with VICKI (LandLord) but she would never respond. temperatures got up to 90 degrees in our apartment on the DAILY. After reaching out multiple times they said quote “AC is a luxury and not required in South Carolina” i thought to myself that it is inhabitable, and atrocious that i’m over paying for a 1 bed 1 bath at 1200$ a month and they consider ac a luxury? when they finally fixed it we asked for a discount on rent and they refused when during that time we couldn’t even stay in the apartment. HONORABLE MENTION (Sink was clogged when we first moved in, air vent leaked, 2 over burners don’t work, ice maker never worked, and sink leaks everytime you use it.

NOT A SAFE PLACE🔈🔈🔈!!! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT COMPANY🔈🔈🔈!!! If you are a single woman do NOT rent here especially . They have absolutely no regard for the safety of their tenants! The property management team does the very least to help you, while not being an “on site team”. We are already looking for a solution with a NIGHTMARE!!!
