Avis Car Rental

First off let me start by saying it was completely unorganized.I booked a reservation for a rental just to be told on the day of my car won’t be available to rent until 2 days later. Secondly the guy who was working with us at the counter was very rude and all over the place. I would highly recommend not renting from here and just spend the extra $75 to rent from Enterprise instead

Pre paid online for a SUV. Called the national number before I drove 30 min to the location. They called the desk at the airport and verified they had all kinds of vehicles to rent including my jeep I wanted. Get to the airport counter and they say they don’t have any cars and I gotta call national number to get a refund. Well I wanna know who’s paying for the gas I wasted traveling there and back. What a joke!!!

I wrongly assumed that paying to reserve a vehicle meant that they would actually have the vehicle. Or any vehicle for that matter. At least the refund was relatively painless, except they claim it will take 2 weeks to get the money back to me.

DO NOT use Avis nor this location. They do not honor reservations and stated, “Atlanta needs cars so they are coming to get all of our cars” but you have reservations on the books, that I confirmed via telephone a few hours prior. Very unprofessional and poor customer service.

Maybe I am too new to this car rental business. But apparently as other reviewers said, PAID RESERVATION means nothing to them. The gentleman told me with a straight face that they do not have any car for my paid reservation and direct me to the airport location (Another terrible story that I will review separately). The online CS of Avis could not be any less help. So if you want to reserve a car from this location for its convenience, my only suggestion is to go pick it up early, preferably when the store opens. My last reservation with them worked this way (for this, I gave them one more star). But it could just be a luck thing. I ended up renting a small U-Haul to my destination, almost 2 hours late for my appointment.
