Because Appaloosa Moving and Storage was acquired by Budget Mover of Augusta, I'll be leaving a review on both pages. First, the guys (Richard, Rod, and Tank) were phenomenal people. They were some of the hardest working guys I've hired (I've moved 5+ times). In addition, all 3 were extremely respectful, down to earth, and thoughtful through each step in the process. The company was extremely accommodating by meeting me at my storage unit (giving me ample time to meet them there via a phone call), loaded the contents, then drove to my new home to unload not only that truck, but the other fully loaded truck I had driven down from my prior home. The best thing, in my opinion, about this company is they have 3 movers to a team. This helps ensure everyone is working safely since the team can rotate heavy/light items and makes things overall more efficient. Also, they rolled out a floor protector on my floors - not sure about you...but this was a FIRST for me and an extremely respectful action taken by them to protect the condition of our new home. The only down side may be the transportation/truck fee of $125...which in my case seemed excessive considering the office location, storage unit, home...but certainly would never be a deal breaker. This was offset by the hourly rate, which was fair considering other quotes received. All in all, wouldn't hesitate to hire these 3 guys again and will be forever thankful for them helping us settle into our new home! Thank you!

My second perfect move with these amazing folks! I’ve logged a LOT of moves, and my moves with Appaloosa have been, by FAR, the most smooth and pleasant! And believe me, as the wife of a construction engineer, we have done some moving!!! Lol!

My wife and I met with Melissa the week prior to our move and she was very pleasant to work with. We walked through our home and we showed her every piece we planned for them to move She explained that there was a 2hr. minimum even though it appeared that we would exceed that for the amount of items required for the move. Her Team arrived promptly at the scheduled time. The crew leader and I went over all of the pieces for the move and they began working immediately. I was very impressed with the care and professionalism the crew showed as they moved and packaged our furniture and other belongings for transport. They arrived at the new location and promptly unloaded the truck and placed our furniture and other belongings where instructed. The move was completed without damage to any of our furniture as well as our personal breakable items that were packaged in boxes. For a Professional and affordable move, I highly recommend Melissa and the Team at Appaloosa Moving and Storage.

I had a water leak that damaged flooring in my master bedroom. I called Melissa and asked that she remove the furniture in order that my contractors could replace the flooring. She said her guys were out of town and she call when they returned the following day and take care of my request. She did not call as promised so I call her again and she said she would have someone out the next morning at 9am. The movers (2 Men) arrived the next day as promised and moved the furniture into an adjoining room and was there for 55 minutes. I did not ask for an estimate as I had done business with Melissa in the past and she had always been reasonable. I had left a check for my fiancee to pay for Melissa's services. I was charged $250.00 which I thought was a rip off. I called Melissa asking did she include in the $250.00 invoice for her guys to return to move the furniture back into the bedroom once the contractor had completed installing new flooring and her answer was no. She then went on to inform me Appaloosa has a two hour minimum which she did not disclose at anytime until I questioned why I had been billed $250.00 for an hour. I take responsibility I should have asked for a quote upfront however Appaloosa should have disclosed their 2 hour minimum policy. If they had I would have refused their services and went elsewhere. Needless to say I am unhappy and will not refer Appaloosa's services to clients in the future. Beware!

I do not recommend using Budget Movers or Appaloosa (owned by the same mysterious person who has yet to reach out to me himself, despite the many times I have left messages with his office staff for him to do so). We used this company to move 9 months ago, and we are still going back and forth with them regarding an insurance claim for over $1,500 worth of "missing" items that they are refusing to pay us for in full (including a brand new TV, its mount, and a smart watch). We have been given many excuses regarding the length of time it is taking to receive the check promised to us. They are only offering to give us $738, but are holding it above our heads that they do not even have to give us that much because they are only required to give us 60 cents per pound of missing/damaged items (we were told this was the only insurance available). First, we waited months for the claim to be processed, then once the claim was supposedly processed, they told us they were going to have to wait until the next month because the business had unexpected expenses (what professional business tells customers this?). When the month went by and we still did not hear anything, we were told that the girl that handles the claims was no longer working there, and she filed the claim incorrectly, and they would need to resubmit the claim, and she said it would take approximately 4-8 weeks for it to process (this was on November 15, and it is now 10.5 weeks later). Every time I have called or reached out to them in the past 2 weeks, I have received a different excuse as to why the girl that handles the claims is not available. Today they informed me I should receive the money in March. When I asked why they would not be sending it until March, the girl that I spoke with said she does not know the specifics of my claim, but said she will get back with me about them (I am not holding my breath for this phone call). I will admit that I have gotten very frustrated by the entire experience and ...
