Antique Gallery - Augusta, GA

My daughter and I went into the store and immediately felt as though we were being followed. The proprietor was rude and abrasive. My daughter touched an old cigar box that she was going to buy and this woman told her not to touch it as it was 200 + years old and it might break. She made the assumption that because my daughter was young (19) that she could not afford this second hand item. Which she was most certainly wrong about, we took our money elsewhere and found many other lovely items at other antique shops in Augusta. Will not set foot in this store ever again.

Went here with my mom and got followed around and harassed by the woman that was running it. Lady behind the counter acted like we couldn’t afford to be there. Ended up finding some better and more beautiful pieces elsewhere. Augusta is rich with culture and love but this little corner is straight from hell.

A visit into Antique Gallery is like spending an afternoon abroad. Barbara Kelly’s hand-selected antiques are exquisite- a fine selection of English and French treasures! Barbara is extremely knowledgeable about antiques and is always willing to share her expertise. I have purchased many antiques from Barbara over the years and each is a beloved treasure.

I, like others, didn’t feel welcome. I was asked “what is your business here” and “why are you here”. Not as if to start a conversation on my interest, but as if my presence was disturbing the peace. The artifacts are over priced anyway and I wouldn’t recommend.

Love this place, they have pretty cool antiques stuff and very impressed for the events they create around the store. Definitely recommend this place to shop some antiques.
